(*NO SEW*) Handmade Fabric Ornaments
It’s the first day of December and I am kicking off 24 days of handmade holiday crafts with an oldie but goodie. A few years ago I made a bunch of these pretties and donated them to a local charity that was auctioning off handmade ornaments made by local artists. I really love good design on a dime and this craft falls into that category. Don’t they look like something you might find at Anthro?
Materials:
scissors + or pinking shears
sharpie or fabric marker for drawing on felt
for grownups: you can cut out the bonding/drying time and use a glue gun
fabric scraps or samples

1. Draw your shapes on felt with your fabric marker.
2. Duplicate the shape.
3. Cut a piece of ribbon, string, or twine.
4. Dab a piece of glue on your felt back.
5. Place your string ends in the glue. Loop should be pointed up.
6. Glue around the perimeter of your back and sandwich the string with the top felt shape.
7. Arrange the fabric scraps in your desired pattern and glue the pieces down.
8. If your scraps are extending past your edges that is okay. You can flip your shape over and trim from behind. The back piece of felt has clean edges and it will guide your cut.
9. Hang away! They look lovely on ribbon, on bare branches, wreathes, or your tree.
